Southern Ohio, March 2007 was a cold and rainy morning. Frank went out to feed his horses and found that a mare in foal had broken out of the barn during a bad storm the night before. He found her in a field but neither the mare nor new foal would let him near. Remembering how Diane had worked with his other horses, he thought maybe she could help him this time also. Diane went out and said she’d see what she could do. Diane went out in the field and sat down waiting; after a time she would get up and move closer towards the mare and her baby. Within the hour the mare walked up to her till both she with her baby and stood over Diane who remained sitting on the ground. The mare stood right there and even let Diane touch her baby, checking to see it was all right. Diane then walked the mare and baby back to the barn and smiled and stated that it was a beautiful filly.

“Amazing! After that I called her the horse whisperer. Thank you once again Diane.” ~ Frank, Ohio

At age 9 yrs, Allie was found in the middle of the road on a rainy evening by a local vet. Unable to find the owners, he placed her in a foster home for Greyhounds. After 5 weeks her owners were finally located by phone, but felt they had already found closure asked that she be found a good home and provided no further explanation about her. The new adoptive owners had many questions which they felt would never be answered, until Allie met Diane. Diane conveyed to the new owner Allie’s unhappiness at her previous home, which led her to running away. Diane also said that Allie would be most appreciative if her new owners would understand that her left rear leg sometimes caused her pain. Later the original vet was tracked down who revealed history for Allie, including that she had once had a broken toe on her rear leg that required pinning while healing.

“Diane is a gifted person. She has the ability to communicate with animals and share those experiences with you. Thank you!” ~ J. Berning, Allie’s owner

July 1999, Diane met Oliver, a 7 yr. old quarter horse gelding from Petersberg, Michigan. His new owners had little knowledge of the physical and emotional abuse he had endured by his previous owners. While Oliver bonded with his new owner, he would still become stressed and upset during training sessions. Diane immediately clued into Oliver’s distress and through use of therapeutic touch and her intuitive gift was able to calm Oliver’s mind and body. Over continued sessions Oliver improved in his trust, and with Diane consulting on his behavior problems both owner and Oliver moved forward with a stronger sense of trust and happiness for both.

Hijuella was a stable mate to Oliver, and a client of Diane’s as well. Hijuella was a 14 yr. old Paso Fino which a history of chronic infections, episodes of mild colic and hives. Without knowing Hijuella’s history, Diane tuned in to several problems with her sinuses, grief, allergies and internal problems involving her live and reproductive system. Diane performed hands on treatment regularly for many months; Each visit giving the mare relief that would last on average about 2 weeks. Unfortunately Hijuella passed away in early 2000. Her owner had a necropsy performed on her after death and the report indicated the following conditions: Significant Polycystic Ovarian Disease; Chronic Laminitis; Lymphoma of the Large and Small Intestine; Tumor growth in throat; Chronic sinus and allergies.

“My son and I are grateful to you for your continued assistance (with Oliver.) I was present at most her sessions and was impressed at the response to her treatment (with Hijuella.) I am a born skeptic and prone to needing scientific explanation for everything, but her (Hijuella) response to mere touch I could not explain. In my opinion, there is much to be gained by incorporating the use of Equine Massage Therapy with conventional methods of veterinary medicine to provide more holistic care for horses.” ~ D. Monnette, Oliver’s owner

I am writing on behalf of my friend and colleague, Diane Schuette. I have known Diane for several years since she was a customer at my store, Rainbows and Roses Galleria. She lives her life as an honest, sincere, generous and loving individual.

Diane is a gifted healer of both people and animals. I have personally benefited from healing sessions offering both pain relief and relaxation. My dog Kramer, is especially fond of Diane, he always manages to coax her into a free massage for himself. He goes from a hyper lab into a “pool of melted butter”.

As a pet communicator in my store, Diane was amazingly accurate with the information she brought forward. I watched the owner’s nod their heads “yes” as Diane told them what was happening in their animal’s lives. She has offered hope and encouragement to families with sick and disruptive pets.

I am truly grateful for the blessings Diane has been in my life.

    Sincerely,

Sadie was a Sheltie who lived in Monroe, Michigan. Diane met her in August 2003, and advised her owner that Sadie was expressing that she was having a hard time seeing. Diane advised her owner to have Sadie’s eyes checked, which upon a vets visit found no concerns. Her owner, thinking about this further realized one day that Sadie’s favorite family room window had recently been treated with a film treatment, reducing the ability for light to come into a room; this treatment was not terribly noticeable to her human owners, but over the course of time the film became cloudy and constantly smudged by Sadie’s nose prints. By this time her owner suddenly realized this was what Sadie meant! She was having trouble seeing OUT THE WINDOW. With the film removed, Sadie once again was able to enjoy her favorite spot, leaning on the back of the couch with her feet on the window ledge, enjoying an unobscured view of outside.

“You are incredible!!! Thank you again – we’re indebted to you, and grateful we found you.” ~ J. Steen, Sadie’s owner

Hi, I am Nancy from The Healing Barn in Ohio.  We rescue and rehab hurt and unwanted Horses.  And I have a story to tell.  I met Diane 5 years ago at a Healing Class in Michigan. I immediately was interested in what she did and how she did it.  I invited her to our barn to visit with some of our rescues.  One horse I have in mind when ever the subject comes up is. Red, Red came to us as a retired show horse.  He basically looked pretty good, a little ribby, but his eyes were sad.  I knew with all my Herbs and experience I could give him some vitamins and Herbs and he would as good as new, then I could find him a loving family whom would take him and love him.  What I did not count on is that Red would not eat for me. He would not eat apples, carrots, treats, nothing.  I called Diane out immediately to talk to Red.  I knew time was important and I could not waste it.  Diane came out to talk Red (age 28 at the time) to see what was going on.  Red showed her pictures of people slapping him, feeding him garbage and he told Diane he knew this was his stopping off place on the way to “that place”.  “That place” to the horses world is the slaughter pens.  I assured Diane that know matter what, Red would never be sent to “that place” and that we needed him to start eating now, before he got sick.  Diane relayed that message to Red and that night and since Red has never missed a meal. Shortly after that visit Red found a new family with grand kids and his mom the grandma and is as healthy as a 32 year old can be.  He is pain free and very happy.  I know for a fact without  Diane’s gift Red would never  have lived.

My next story is about Cedrick another retired show horse.  Beautiful at 15 years old with a severe spinal injury.  He would not look at me for a week or two when he first came to the barn..  He had that distant stare of what is going to happen to me now.  For you see, Cedrick was not just any show horse he was a world leader in his day. As Diane listened to his story tears ran down her face, he told her on his off months of not showing he was sent to a trainer who brutally beat him to make him go fast.  When we explained to him you will never never have to worry about this again he looked at both of us and said promise?  We both agreed that he will live his life with us and no one will touch him like that again.. This day 10 months after Cedrick arrived at The Healing Barn he is completely healed with the help of Diane’s gift of healing and mentally he is a new 15 year old happy horse.

I could go on and on about the gift Diane has with the animals and people.  She has helped out so many of our horses from tiny little “Oh My Tooth Hurts”  to huge problems that no one else could figure out.  It is so fun to see Diane come quietly in to the barn around nap time 2 PM all the horses perk their heads up and come to the fence and start telling her silly things.  One day she came and  Molly one of our very first rescues came to the gate and told Diane she had a belly ache and before Diane could say anything Red pushed his way up and said to Diane, “ well its no wonder she eats every thing” with a chuckle and a smile Diane went over and put her hand on Molly’s belly for a minute Molly passed a large amount of gas and her belly ache was gone. People can choose to believe in her gift or not, but I will tell you that without the Help of Diane our success rate of Healing would not be 100%.

Thank you ~ Nancy Swigart The Healing Barn, Millbury, Ohio

After seeing “The Pet Whisperer” on Animal Planet, I contacted Diane 9 years ago so we could say goodbye to my extremely ill cat who was diagnosed with FIP. Diane came to my home and figured out that Felix did not have FIP and gave me the “bath soak” she uses along with instructions. Felix made a miraculous recovery and I was blessed to have him another 7 years. I contact Diane whenever there is an issue with any of my “babies”. I believe my 15 year old 80 pound husky is still living because of Diane and her help. I don’t know what I would do without her and recommend her to everyone I know. She has found lost and stolen companion animals of people that I personally know. We so very fortunate to have her in our lives, she has and is a true gift.

My younger cat Athena had just come through several difficult weeks, with a vet hospitalization after a stomach irritation, followed by an upper respiratory infection contracted from the vet’s! At home finally, she was on several meds which she resisted, and was generally despondent and without appetite. She lost so much weight, was very weak, and sat for long periods just staring at the wall–I was very concerned about her!

My vet knew Diane and recommended I call her–she came to my house on her day off, and gave Athena a Reiki treatment which opened up her system, telling me that she was suffering sinus pressure and lack of appetite due to the aftertaste from the meds and her inability to smell food. After the treatment she began smelling again, and was eating by the end of the week. I truly felt I was at the end of my options, and I believe Athena recovered because of Diane’s care.

My “little” cat is still with me, and I still consult Diane whenever I have concerns about either of my babies. I would recommend her to anyone who cares to understand their pets more deeply and be proactive about their treatment.

  9. I manage Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter in Toledo, Ohio. For years we have called upon Diane to try to shed light on cats we are having particular problems with. Countless times she has brought to light problems with individual cats that either did not reveal themselves in a physical exam or consisted of an event in the cats past.
At first I was a skeptic. Because of this when I called on Diane I would never tell her what was going on with an individual cat. I would just point out the cat and let her spend time with it. A couple of times she had nothing more than the cat was unhappy to be here but on may other occasions she has come up with problems that later after testing have been verified. Most of the times she found problems that never would have been looked for had it not been for Diane’s visit.
One day I called Diane and when she answered I introduced myself. I started to say the reason I’m calling is…..then I stopped and kind of jokingly said “well I don’t need to tell YOU why I called”. To my surprise I didn’t she started telling me about the adult calico I was calling about. Years later I don’t recall what the particular problem was but addressed the problems Diane spoke of and the cat’s personality turned around and was adopted a short time later.
Another time I called on Diane to help with a very skittish cat that occasional reacted violently when you tried to remove him from his cage. Diane stood in front of the cage and talked to the cat for a while. After talking for a while she advised us the cat was blind in the right eye and when he was approached from the right he couldn’t always see what was going on and it frightened him. We took the cat to the vet and the blindness was confirmed. From then on we made sure we made some noise before approaching him so he could look up and see what was going on. With that little change he became a very sweet boy and found a forever home.
One of veterinarians at the practice where we take most of our cats was a complete disbeliever in Diane’s work. However, after being involved in several of the examinations after Diane told the shelter what to look for, the vet is now at least open-minded about Diane’s work and does not automatically dismiss Diane’s suggestion of a problem.
Diane’s help has been invaluable over the years and her communication with our residents has brought to light a number of problems that never would have been discovered had she not helped out.
